This is my little How To on Bantu Knots & a Bantu Knot Out.
I start out with freshly washed & conditioned hair. I then add coconut oil throughout my hair to give it some extra moisture before. I then part my hair into sections, add a bit if Curly Pudding of whatever you use to help set your hair/curls, and add oil to my ends to seal them. I use the Two-Strand method in my Bantu Knots, so I Two-Stand twist my hair first, and then take the one twist and continue to twist it until it starts to curl upon itself. Then I coil it around until it forms the Bantu Knot. I continue doing that all throughout my entire head.
The sections in the picture look a bit bigger than they really are, but I usually try to do small sections to get a more defined look. You can do bigger sections if you want more of a wavy look for your hair.
I go through my day and sleep in the Bantu Knots overnight, and the next morning I do the take down. I put some oil in my hair and rub it over my entire head, and then proceed to take down each knot. The oil leftover on my fingers is rubbed into my hair while I’m taking the knots down, so it’s giving it some extra shine and locking in moisture. After it’s taken down I just style it and i’m good to go :) I usually just throw a headband on it and push the front curls back some out of my face.
*these are all camera phone pics, so they won’t be too good.
But yeah, they’re pretty easy and simple to do, they leave your hair looking amazing, and they last for a while. Hope you guys are successful with your knots & knot outs :)
